Series: Nehemiah: Building for the Future
Speaker: Pastor Anthony Orzo

Take your next steps with Restoration:

In our Community: Are you looking for a way to serve in the community and get connected at Restoration? This Saturday, with our Sweetwater Elementary School partnership, we’ll have the opportunity to help make their annual “Fundraiser Auction Night” a true success. Please join us and be a part of this special event from 7-9am, 9-11am or 11am-2pm. Interested or have questions? Contact us here.

Together as a People: Do you want to learn more about Restoration Church's vision and values? If so, join us for our next Gospel Partnership Luncheon this Sunday, March 1st, from 12:00-3:30pm! At Restoration, Gospel Partnership is aimed at helping people understand you don't just join a church, rather Jesus calls us to be the church. We hope that you'll take this next step with us! To sign up or if you have any questions, contact us here.

At our Gatherings: Are you interested in taking your next steps for Jesus with us at Restoration? Last Sunday we launched a brand new series to help you do just that. As we approach our 5-year anniversary, we'll look to the book of Nehemiah to help us pray, plan and labor towards what the next 5 years hold for us. Play your part in our future this Sunday at 10am.

Primary Passages: Nehemiah 1:1-11

Launching Discussion: Have any of you ever read the book of Nehemiah before, or heard it taught on? If so, what were the truths that stuck with you? What were the emphasis points that came out of the book?

Sermon Questions:

1. One of the key themes we read about in Nehemiah chapter 1 is that Nehemiah is broken in his soul over the condition of the Jerusalem Wall.

  • Has there ever been a time where you were broken over the condition of your own soul, or the condition of God’s church? Please be as honest as you can in answering this.

2. One of the marks of a healthy faith and church is they have the courage to ask God who they are in light of Him—and they are eager to grow in the areas they are not.

  • As you think about your personal faith and the role you play in your church family, what areas of your life do you feel encouraged in and what areas do you feel you can grow in?

3. Have you given recent thought to the fact that there is a “What currently is” and “What God’s could be is” for your life? Did the section in Pastor Anthony’s talk cause you to think about God’s future for your life?

  • Share with the group where you are right now and where you feel God wants you to be.

4. Now let’s take that same train of thought and apply it to our Restoration Church family. One of the main points Pastor Anthony talked about in his message is that unlike the walls of Jerusalem-Restoration is looking to the future while building on the healthy foundation of the past 5 years.

  • When you think about RCPO, please spend some time talking about what you love about “the What is (the current state of our church)”? Make sure you also balance this discussion by talking about “the what could be (the things you’d like to see happen in RCPO’s future)”.
